International Ballet Theater

International Ballet Theater is a professional ballet company under the leadership of Artistic Director Alexander Boitsov. The company is deeply rooted in the Russian ballet tradition, adhering to the Vaganova method of training used by Nureyev and Baryshnikov. Dedicated to the preservation of ballet as an art form, IBT strives to keep the spirit of Russian Ballet alive by performing classical repertoire with the original choreography from famous ballets, such as Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, and many others.

IBT is composed of 15 professional dancers from companies across the United States and Russia, and it has been critically acclaimed for its superb dancing, innovative choreography and high-energy enthusiasm.

Comments from recent tour performances include "tremendous...my daughter's eyes never left the stage," "magnificent," and "what a pleasure to have the performance in my own town."

 

(In cooperation with the Garrett County Schools, and with a kind donation from Howard and Audrey Naylor, all 4th grade students of Garrett County will be bussed to Garrett College for a daytime performance of the International Ballet Theater.)
