Committees
The GLAF Board of Directors welcomes input from local residents and festival patrons. One way to get involved is to become a member of one of the GLAF committees: Education, Program, Promotion, House, Fundraising, Finance and Grants.
Bulk Mailings
Up to 20 volunteers are needed for the large spring bulk mailing, which typically includes a newsletter, brochure, and inserts to a mailing list of over 3,000. Duties include stuffing envelopes, sealing, stamping, and sorting. The bulk mailing is held on weekdays, beginning at 9 AM and is finished by 1 PM. There are other smaller mailings throughout the season for which volunteers are also needed.
Advance Ticket Sales
Tickets are sold in advance at the GLAF office during the season and also at performances (before, during intermission, and after). During busy times, a volunteer is needed to handle ticket sales in the GLAF office during the week. A volunteer is also needed to sell advance tickets at each performance.
Box Office
Two volunteers are needed at each performance to handle box office sales. Duties include: selling tickets, handling cash, checks and credit card orders; and compiling and reporting sales and attendance.
Ushers
Up to six ushers are needed for each performance. Duties include taking tickets, distributing programs, and escorting patrons to seats. Familiarity with exits, seating, and handicapped arrangements is needed.
